Fields of Dreams at Friendship Blow-Pierce

Fields of Dreams is proud to partner with Friendship Blow-Pierce Elementary & Middle to bring our after-school program to Northeast Washington. Students get homework help and academic enrichment with a classroom teacher, then baseball with a Fields of Dreams coach — building teamwork, character and confidence on and off the field.

About Friendship Blow-Pierce and Fields of Dreams

Friendship Blow-Pierce Elementary & Middle ("Blow Pierce ES/MS"), located at 725 19th Street NE in Northeast Washington, D.C., serves students from Pre-K3 through 8th grade. Part of the Friendship Public Charter School network and one of D.C.'s highest-performing Tier 1 charter schools, Blow-Pierce describes itself as a character-driven, college-prep school. Under the leadership of Principal Robert Gregory, students build a strong foundation in reading, language, mathematics, science and history through a thematic approach that brings social and cultural relevance to every subject, with equal attention to emotional, social, physical and academic development in an environment of safety and respect. Older students get early college exposure and Advanced Placement preparation, and sixth graders partner with CapX Lab to use D.C.'s museums and cultural institutions as their classroom. The school day runs 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; the main office is (202) 572-1070.

With the addition of Fields of Dreams programming, Blow-Pierce students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade gain a safe, structured place to learn and play after the school day ends — Monday through Thursday, 3:30 to 5:30 PM, from October 1, 2026 through June 10, 2027, at no cost to families.

Our Impact at Friendship Blow-Pierce

Academic Achievement: Fields of Dreams staff work closely with Blow-Pierce teachers to identify students who might benefit from additional academic support. We offer targeted tutoring sessions, homework help, and enrichment activities that reinforce classroom learning and improve academic performance.

Character Development: Our program emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and respect through engaging activities and sportsmanship opportunities. Students learn to collaborate effectively, make positive choices, and build strong social connections.

Physical Activity and Wellness: Fields of Dreams incorporates fun and interactive physical activities into the program. This helps students stay active, improve their health, and develop a positive attitude towards physical wellness.
